SOD business strategy has always been in tune with technology and Innovations. We have installed the best automation processes and the latest safety systems at our Installations.

Optimized Operation, Centralized Logistics tool and SMART Terminals is another technology-based initiative of SOD, wherein all its upcoming terminals are equipped with ultra-modern facilities and SOD is increasingly modernizing existing terminals with no manual Intervention.

During the year, some strategic locations declared as SMART Terminal. Going forward, some more locations will be converted into SMART Terminal. This will improve efficiency in the operations.

With the advent of vehicle tracking systems, now being integrated with the new Electro-Mechanical Locking system. This has greatly enhanced customer satisfaction and further roll-out is in progress.

Mobile App based interface with dealers, transporters are increasingly being deployed to increase productivity and stakeholder engagement.

SOD SBU is also leveraging the power of data analytics in various facets of Operations.

Sustainability – Societal Value

Today, as a low carbon future beckons on the horizon, the Operations & Distribution of HPCL is engaged in building a future of clean and green energy. Our organization is engaging itself in developing green energy projects with great enthusiasm to mitigate greenhouse gas emission.

We are leading with an unprecedented quantum leap from BS-IV fuels to a world standard BS-VI compliant regime and providing environment-friendly fuel facilities at Terminal and Depots and various activities were initiated at Retail Outlets. Now BS-VI products were placed across the country within the timelines notified by the Government of India.

Solar Energy

Use of green energy, which considered clean energy is also economically beneficial for the organization. To make this endeavour a reality, SOD is focused on putting up solar plants at their various locations throughout the country with a cumulative installed capacity to 6.56 MW at POL Locations, resulting in reduce conventional electricity consumption and achieve greenhouse gas emission reduction

Ethanol / Bio Fuel

HPCL-SOD is actively participating in the Ethanol blending program of the Government of India and has procured the highest ever volume of ethanol (46 crore litre) during the year which resulted in an overall Ethanol Belding Percentage (EBP) of 4.9% during 2019-20.
