Skill Development Institutes

HPCL supported Skill India Mission by making contribution towards establishment of Skill Development Institutes at Visakhapatnam, Raebareli, Ahmedabad, Kochi, Bhubaneswar, and Guwahati for imparting skills to youth in various sectors. The Skill Development Institutes are conceptualised by Government of India and operationalised by Oil & Gas CPSEs with a special focus on imparting skills in industry-oriented trades for enhancing employability and bridging the skill gap of the nation.

Kashmir Super - 50 (Medical)

Project Kashmir Super - 50 (Medical) provided mentoring and coaching to talented students from Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh regions. The students get free residential coaching and guidance for a period of twelve months for entrance examinations of various medical colleges spread across the country. The CSR project in Jammu & Kashmir region is a part of Indian Army’s sustained efforts to secure a better future for the Kashmiri youth in cohesive partnership with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited. The Indian Army provides the infrastructure, lodging, boarding facility and conducive study environment for the students. This residential training program gave wings to aspirations of marginalized youth by successfully competing in various medical entrance exams.

Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY)

HPCL supported Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana to provide clean cooking fuel solution to women from poor households especially in rural areas. This has led to smoke-free kitchen and improved health of womenfolk and children.

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan

HPCL has contributed towards the national cause of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan by developing sanitation infrastructure at various public places and sensitizing communities on the importance of cleanliness, personal hygiene and environment preservation. Sanitation infrastructure includes construction of school toilets under Swachh Vidyalaya Abhiyan, providing drinking water facilities, waste management solutions in municipalities & villages and provision of sanitary napkin vending machines & incinerators in schools, colleges and hostels. Our employees and various stakeholders have participated in the mass-movement on cleanliness and hygiene and have undertaken various activities with direct and indirect participation.

During observance of Swachhta Pakhwada and Swachhta Hi Sewa campaigns, lakhs of people across the country were sensitized about importance of maintaining personal hygiene and cleanliness. Plastic Free City / Village Campaigns were conducted in various parts of the country for elimination of Single Use Plastic (SUP) and reducing plastic waste. Employees across business locations have carried out Shramdaan and awareness generation activities.

HPCL also collaborated with its dealer and distributor network, municipal corporations, and panchayats, district administrations, Indian Railways, Indian Army, Police, schools and colleges and community in general towards mission of clean India as envisaged by Mahatma Gandhi. The efforts of this collaborative approach resulted in making substantial changes in sanitation by way of infrastructure development and sensitization of large number of stakeholders. HPCL has collaborated with Municipal Corporation of Amritsar under Swachh Iconic Place (SIP) initiative for Golden Temple Amritsar.

Other CSR Initiatives:

Our CSR endeavours in the thematic areas of School Education, Nutrition and Healthcare have contributed to availability / upgradation of basic school and college infrastructure / medical care amenities respectively at government facilities in remote locations spread across the country. Various other sustainable and green initiatives like development of rainwater harvesting techniques in arid zones, water body augmentation/rejuvenation projects, installation of sustainable energy facilities in communities, development of gardens and parks at public places, sapling plantation in different geographies have led to empowerment of the less-privileged communities. Our offices spread across the country undertook various activities for the development of local communities.

The academic efforts of meritorious students from socially-economically weaker communities were supplemented by providing scholarships. With an aim to promote sports in the country, scholarships were granted to talented sportspersons. Contribution was made towards Armed Forces Flag Day Fund for the care, support, welfare and rehabilitation schemes for Ex-Servicemen (ESM) and their dependents.
