Chairman and Managing Director, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, Sh. Pushp Kumar Joshi launched poWer100, the ultra-premium branded petrol & inaugurated an EV charging station at Hyderabad. Executive Director, Retail, Sh. Sandeep Maheshwari and Ch. General Manager, South Central Zone, Sh. S. Hari Prasad were also present at the launch at Company’s Osmania University Retail Outlet.
HPCL is working towards making its retail outlets multi fuel, so that mobility solutions can be provided for whatever vehicles customers choose to drive. The EV charging station has been put up in partnership with Charge Dock Pvt. Ltd., a Bengaluru based start-up. It will be catering to 4-wheelers and has two guns - first of 30KW capacity CCS 2 charger and the second of 7.4 KW Type 2 AC charger. The facility will be available to the EV owners free of cost at the moment.
As the name suggests poWer100 has an octane rating of 100 and is currently one of the highest-octane rated petrol available in India. With superior anti-knocking properties, it improves engine power, resulting in faster acceleration, better fuel economy and smooth ride. It also reduces emissions due to superior combustion of the fuel in the combustion chamber.
Inaugurating the EV Charging Station, Sh. Joshi said: “Expansion of the business profile with greater presence in the clean energy remains the focus area for HPCL. EVs are more efficient than ICE Engine vehicles and have zero tail pipe emission. Range anxiety remains one of the main reasons for low adoption of EVs. We are working to advance the accessibility of charging through investing and partnering. HPCL is already one of the biggest Charge Point Operators in the country with more than 1,000 chargers on its retail outlets. We have planned to have 5,000 EV Charging Stations by 2024-25.” About poWer100, he said, “This premium petrol is an ideal fuel choice for high performance, high end cars and bikes and I am sure it will be a big hit with our esteemed customers at Hyderabad.”
HPCL’s ED – Retail said: “EV revolution is going to be a reality. At HPCL, we see ourselves in an important role for building a national network of charging – one which would closely replicate the current fueling experience. We think this will give people confidence to travel greater distances, without worrying about whether they will run out of power. We are focusing on 9 priority cities with more than 4 million population and the connecting highways and Hyderabad is one of them. As regards poWer100, it is being launched at Hyderabad as per demand from the customers. The multi-functional additives in these superior quality fuel helps in cleaning the engine, reducing wear and tear and thereby increasing engine life.”
