C&MD of HPCL Ms. Nishi Vasudeva Honoured with Global " CEO of the Year "

Mumbai 2015

Ms. Nishi Vasudeva, C&MD Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. has been honoured as Global 'CEO of the Year' by Platts Global Energy Awards at a function held at New York.

Ms. Nishi Vasudeva is the first CEO from the Indian Oil & Gas industry to be bestowed with this prestigious honour. She was also honoured by Platts as its 2015 'Asia CEO of the Year', recently. The jury expressed their pleasure to honour her with both the awards.

Energy companies from seven countries and three continents received honours for leadership, innovation and exemplary performance at the 17th Annual Platts Global Energy Awards, often described as the "Oscars" of energy, before an audience of 400 energy executives from across the globe.

As per Platts Insight magazine December, 2015 issue, 'CEO of the Year', who was also honoured by Platts as its 2015 Top 250 'Asia CEO of the Year', has effectively turned around state-owned Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, delivering an increase of over 200% in stock market value during her first year on the job. Judges duly noted not only this leader's sharp business acumen, but also her ability to smash the glass ceiling: C&MD, HPCL Ms. Nishi Vasudeva is the first female head of a large Indian oil company, and one of only 14 women to helm a Global Fortune 500 company.

Ms. Vasudeva is well known for her courage and dedication to making a difference, both at a company level and in the lives of employees and customers. During her tenure, performance metrics have soared, share & market capitalisation have increased and the company reported record profits despite challenging market conditions.

As CEO of the Year, both in her region and internationally, judges felt Ms. Vasudeva exhibited strategic marketing and effective financial management skills, as well as consistent clarity of vision and sound judgement which will have an immediate impact on HPCL and will create a long term positive resonance throughout the energy community.
