Cap on subsidised LPG cylinders

Government of India has been providing subsidy on Domestic LPG purchased by Consumers. There has been a change in norms of supply of Domestic LPG (205 kb)PDF File Opens in a new window effective 14th of September 2012. This was further modified effective 18th January 2013. The number of Domestic Cylinders for which Subsidy can be availed for has now been capped at 12 refills per LPG Connection. More details are given below.

1. What is Capping of LPG cylinder?
Ans. Effective 14th September 2012, Govt. Of India (GOI) has capped supply of subsidised domestic cylinders to 6 cylinders in a year for all domestic consumers. This has been modified to 9 cylinders (351 kb)PDF File Opens in a new window on 18th January 2013. At present the cap is 12 cylinders per year.

2. How many subsidised cylinder I will get in current financial year 2013-14?

For year 2014-15 cap has been revised to 12 cylinders per year.

3. After I consume all capped quantity am I eligible for subsidised cylinder?
Ans. No subsidised cylinder will be delivered after consumption of capped quantity. However refill will be supplied on non-subsidised rate after consumption of capped quantity on receipt of refill order.

4. What will happen to my subsidised quota when I transfer my connection?
Ans. In case of transfer of connection on or after 14th September 2012, the balance available subsidised quota will be included in new distributorship. While obtaining transfer document from distributor kindly check print out of Balance Quota Available.

5. Am I eligible for subsidised quota if my connection is blocked?
Subsidised quota will be available once the connection is unblocked after completion of necessary documentation at distributorship.

6. In case of new connection what will be the eligibility of subsidised quota?
Ans. Prorate quota (no fractional quantity) will be fixed basis the balance period of the financial year.

7. How can I keep record of my consumption of cylinder?
Ans. At the time of delivery of refill cylinder kindly ensure recording of supply details by the delivery person in DGCC (Domestic Gas Consumer Card) book. If you do not possess DGCC book then kindly obtain it from your distributor on payment of its cost. Kindly get the existing DGCC book endorsed by the distributorship by visiting at showroom. Kindly check printed information of subsidised cylinder 1/12, 2/12 etc. upon refill cash memo.

8. I do not want subsidised cylinder, is it possible?
Ans. Yes you can opt out from using subsidised cylinder by UnRegister Subsidy from HP GAS consumer world or by submission of application at distributorship. Afterwards your refill will be delivered at non subsidised rate.

9. Are subsidised cylinders applicable for reticulated LPG customers?
Ans. Yes subsidised LPG cylinders are also applicable for Reticulated LPG installation upon completion of necessary documentation at distributorship by housing society.
