Oil and Gas Conservation Fortnight (OGCF) -2015
New Delhi, 25th February 2015
Energy is a vital input for the over-all development & prosperity for a country. Fossil fuels like Oil & Gas continue to be the most preferred energy sources. Due to ever growing economy of our country, the demand for petroleum products has been ever increasing. India’s domestic production of crude oil accounts for only 22.4% of our total crude oil requirement. Import of the balance requirement leads to a huge burden on the national exchequer.
The need for judicious utilization of our petroleum resources therefore is of utmost importance for us. To increase the awareness about petroleum products conservation, all the Oil & Gas companies along with PCRA under the aegis of MoPNG organize Oil & Gas Conservation Fortnight (OGCF) every year in the month of January.
This year the OGCF was inaugurated by Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Minister of State - Independent Charge, Ministry Of Petroleum and Natural Gas, on 16th Jan 2015 at New Delhi where he stressed upon the importance of this activity.
